There are many ways to come across great weapons but the most common (and often quicker way of finding a great weapon) is to visit a Pawn Shop or Broker.
Each House has a set of Brokers, one house has armor (Kundarak), one house has Weapons (Deneith), one house has jewelry (Phiarlan) and one house has helms/boots/gloves (Jorasco). There are different grades of loot you can buy at the brokers some costing more then others. You can even sell to the brokers (at a very big loss of value) but you're assured a sell.
