The armor system is quite different in DnD Online. Rather then having 1,000 different types of armor they give you 10. Immediately you get the feeling that in the higher levels everyone make look the same with only 10 armor sets to choose from but that isn't the case.
You can equip two sets of Full Plate and each looks dramatically different. This is because your plate's appearance is based on your progression in the game. In other words, if you looted a chest and got a Full Plate in a starter quest and then looted a quest in a lvl 8 quest, each suit of armor would look drastically different when it appears on your character. The colors can also vary per suit.
